Are you looking for the falls ? This is the place.
Are you looking for TREK along with the falls ? This is the place.
Are you looking for antique caves ? This is the place
Yes, Wayanad has it all.
Lakidi View Point
Places to explore:
Chembra peak
An easy trek of < 4km.
The entry time to the base camp is till 2 pm only, so plan accordingly. Don’t worry about the trekking permit or any pre booking, all can be done there once you reach.
Banasura dam and hill view, zip line:
The view is amazing and this is my favorite place in Wayanad. The view is spectacular. But be ready for the line and crowd during peak season. There you will find the longest zipline, sometimes the waiting time for the zipline is >1 hr, so do check once you reach the hilltop.
Meenmutty falls
This is really beautiful and offers you a short trek along with the falls. You can sit, trek and get to see a great view from the falls. Shoes are not really required, but prefer to wear if visiting.
Edakkal cave
A must visit place in Wayanad. Involves a small trek, the stairs are available and multiple halting points for small breaks to sit and enjoy.
Lakidi view point
Its another beautiful landscape that Wayanad offers. It’s actually a road, so do not expect much, but its view from the top is worth going.
You can book for Safari rides (always pre book) and explore the wildlife sanctuary.
Go for boating, Kayaking, Zip line. You can also search on Google with Karlad adventure camp.
Kuruvadeep island, bamboo rafting
It’s a small island, full of greenery. To reach there you have to take a bamboo ferry or do bamboo rafting. Although I won’t recommend this to have in your must-visit list. But if it’s in your way, you can go once
Offbeat place:
Neelimala view point
You might not find this place on google maps, refer to https://wayanadtourism.co.in/neelimala-view-point-wayanad
It’s near Meenmutty waterfall.
Iruppu Falls
Not in Wayanad, but on the border of Karnataka and Wayanad. If you see this place on your way, it's worth going.
Where to stay:
Zostel Wayanad:
4 Zostels are there, you can choose either of them depending on your location and price preference. We stayed in Zostel Homes Wayanad (Karapuzha). The property is really pretty, it has only 2-3 rooms, so if planning you might need to book quickly. The view of Karapuzha lake from its balcony room is amazing.
Hotels:
Try to book near Kalpetta.

The owner, Mustafa, is an amazing host, very sweet and helpful, and went out of his way to help us. I found him on Google while scrolling and it turned out to be the most amazing experience in Wayanad. Not just a wonderful person, but a really good photographer too and make sure you get all the reels and instagrammable poses. He is a very enthusiastic person, did waterfall trek with us and took so many pictures. He has a website too, and you can get his latest contact details from there.
